Q: ARE APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED?
Yes, The One Bridal Boutique is open by appointment only so that our stylist is available to personally assist you. However, we often can accommodate last minute bookings – so don’t ever hesitate to give us a call.
You can make an appointment via our “Book Appointment” tab on the website. Please contact us if you need a different appointment time that what is currently available.
Looking for inspiration? We highly recommend checking out our “Designer” page to get an idea of our collection before booking a full appointment with us.
Q: HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT?
It is never too early to purchase a dress! We suggest ordering your gown 8-12 months before your wedding date to feel comfortable. You’ll want to leave time for alterations and most importantly a peace of mind.
Q: WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
Our first priority is to make your experience as comfortable, stress-free, and inspiring as possible. At your first appointment, you will meet one-on-one with a Bridal Stylist who can guide you along the way.
Our private fittings are scheduled for 1 hour. During this time you get to play dress up and sip on a beverage and try on several gown samples.
If you’re not local to Brooklyn, let us know in advance so that we can accommodate a longer time with you.
All of our gowns are made-to-order. The dresses available to try-on are samples only - once you find “The One”, it will be ordered in a size recommended specifically for you.
Q: HOW MANY GUESTS MAY I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
We do not have a limit on guests but we believe that your fittings should be as intimate as possible. We suggest keeping it under 3. A smaller group will help you find the gown of your dreams and avoid pressure by others’ opinions.
Q: WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?
We recommend bringing nude undergarments (spanx, strapless bra or sticky cups) or shoes that you’re considering wearing on your wedding day. If you have any other accessories, don’t hesitate to bring those along. We want to help you visualize your complete wedding day look!
Q: I FOUND “THE ONE” WHAT NEXT?
Once you’ve picked your dress, we'll take your measurements and help you to decide what size is most appropriate for you.
We require a 50% deposit with the remaining balance due when the dress arrives. Due to the nature of made-to-order dresses, all sales are final. No exchanges or returns!
Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY GOWN TO ARRIVE?
The average order time for most dresses is between 3-6 months, though each designer has a slightly different timeline. Once your dress comes in, we’ll set up a time for you to come in and pick it up. It’s good to keep in mind, that you will most likely need alterations on your dress even though it was ordered in your specific size. Hems, bustles and partial sizing adjustments are generally necessary.
Q: DO YOU PROVIDE IN-HOUSE ALTERATIONS?
We do! Although you are not obligated to have your bridal alterations done in store, we do offer a seasoned professional to help our clients with their alteration needs. You can schedule fitting appointments once you finish your initial try on appointment or you may request an appointment on our “Book Appointment” tab.
Q: WHAT IS A TRUNK SHOW?
A trunk show is normally a weekend-long special event in which a bridal salon features a particular designer’s collection. The bride has a unique opportunity to view and try on wedding dresses not normally found at the boutique and may also have the opportunity to meet the designer. A trunk show is a special event not to be missed and offers brides a very exclusive and fun experience along with many benefits!
